The Second Amendment Protects Racism Sticker

The second amendment is racist at its core. Not only has the right to bear arms been upheld to favor white gun ownership (while criminalizing armed BIPOC folks), but the original wording of the Second Amendment was created to further enable the theft of native lands, and protect the institution of slavery. A bit more history: the original wording of the second amendment is "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed." And when we look into what the "well regulated militia" was doing during the time when the amendment was drafted, it is clear that they existed to protect white settlers' efforts to uphold and protect the institution of slavery, and steal land from native peoples.
